when it’s hot.

What else do you do besides swim?  My little dude doesn’t want to nap today.  We’ve already played outside in a little pool in our yard this morning.  I don’t want to do anything with him except be in water, but he’s tired of it.  😦  I’m contemplating a long afternoon at the public pool, but he has a bit of a cough.  Air conditioning and a movie?  APITA shopping center and a latte?

Days without naps are so sad.  So very sad indeed. 😦

  1. I hope he’s not trying to drop it. When Etta was dropping her nap, I made her lay on the sofa and watch a movie during her nap time. She’d occasionally fall asleep for awhile which would help the rest of the day go a little more smoothly.

  2. Back in the dark ages, when my kids started dropping naps, they had quiet time instead. They could look at books, or play quietly with something in their beds. At the beginning, they would drift off frequently. As they got older, they continued having a quiet time in the afternoon, so I could have some downtime and retrieve some sanity. 🙂

  3. happily, he’s not dropping his nap. i won’t let him him, he’s too crabby when he does. but he does have days every once in a while where sleep alludes him. he bangs around in his crib and plays with the cars that are in there. “quiet time” sounds like an excellent alternative.. 🙂
